2024 Ottawa Branch Indoor Contest in Review!

Our second year back has been a success! Thank you to our entire community for the overwhelming support for the Ottawa branch during the 2024 season. Hold on to your socks because we are about to blow them off 🤯.

There were over 130 entries overall from 74 solo contestants in 26 solo contest categories. We had over 100 piping, 17 snare, and 8 tenor and bass entries. Our largest contest was Grade 5 piping (over 18) judged by Brian Williamson with a whopping 12 contestants!

On the band front, there were 16 entries from 11 bands across 7 contests, including Quartets, Drum Fanfare, grade 5, 4, 3, grade 2 MSR, and Medley.

Also, we would like to thank our 5 local judges: (alpha order) Andrea Boyd, Brian Williamson, Ed Bush, Jacob Dicker, and Ross Davison as well as the 3 judges who travelled from out of town: (alpha order) Glenna MacKay-Johnstone, Kyle Heaney and Steven Hill. This event wouldn’t be possible without their incredible support and expertise.

Thank you to the 11 volunteers who supported this event from beginning to end: (alpha order) Alanna Ritchie, Cathy Wilson, Francis McArdle, Joan Schnupp, Jocelyn Lepage, Kayleigh Johnstone, Mary Byford, Natalie McCarthy, Ron Graham, Shannon McEwen, and Scott Wilson.

It was wonderful to see the newcomers interacting with our communities seasoned veterans.
