An exceptional piping career is not solely defined by a title, the bands played in, or by the number of events won, but by a larger set of factors that lead to being a recognized leader in the community. It is one marked by service, growth, purpose, and meaning, and that has described what Jacob brings to the piping and drumming community in eastern Ontario and further afield.
Before age 30, Jacob won or tied for PPBSO Championship Supreme in all but one amateur grade, gained 14 years of professional solo experience, won the Piobaireachd Society Gold Medal (Canada), became a top grade pipe major, led the largest branch of the PPBSO, taught dozens of students, joined the judging panel in Ontario, and became a regular invitee to the Argyllshire Gathering and Northern Meeting. Despite all that, he will tell you that “I feel like I have a lot of unfinished business!
Thank you to Graeme Ogilvie, as well as Jacob's family and friends for their input.
