History Series: Bethany Bisaillion is a member of a very active pipe band family. Bethany started highland dancing at three years old, but when she was nine she took after her brothers and picked up the practice chanter as well. In 1977, she joined the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band (SOSPB) under Morag Jamieson, who was her first tutor and a tutor for many in the Ottawa region. Bethany has been pipe major of the SOSPB since 1999, and over the span of her piping career, she has led and supported several organizations, organized and promoted numerous events, and been a tutor to many.
